Description
Scan a book's barcode ISBN to view Accelerated Reader (AR) ATOS level, quiz details, etc. Unlock Lexile, DRA, and F&P / GRL information via a one-time in-app purchase.
BookScanner is always up to date, has nearly 10,000 5-star ratings, and a history of over 10 years in the App Store, it is the ideal app for anyone who has to work with popular reading comprehension systems in school. No barcode on your book? You can also type in the ISBN or title and author to look up a book and add it to your history.
How many times have you had to type in a book name to find out what level it is, or how many points it's worth, while holding the book in your hand? With BookScanner, you can quickly scan the ISBN of the book to find the AR quiz number, ATOS (also ZPD) level, points, word count, interest level, as well as, via a one-time in-app-purchase, the Lexile measure, equivalent Fountas & Pinnell Level (F&P) / Scholastic Guided Reading Level (GRL), Guided Reading Grade Level information, and Developmental Reading Assessment (DRA) information.
Your scanned books will save to a history list for easy reference later on. This history can be viewed within the app, or you can email, print, or share PDF and CSV files of your scanned book list. Once exported, you can reference your list through a spreadsheet, print labels, or save for safekeeping.
This is a Universal App with custom screens for iPhone and iPad devices to fit the specific screen size - including support for the latest iPhone models. iPad devices also have support for landscape mode and split view. Apple Silicon Macs can also run the iPad app natively on macOS.

Classroom Library Game Changer
Love this for helping me to level my classroom library books, as well as allowing me to record the AR Quiz numbers inside each book.
My students can easily find books are better fit with their reading levels along with giving them more independence and control during their weekly book shopping time. Even my students can use the app to check for quiz numbers for almost any book they pick up.
I love, too, how I can quickly find the levels for books I wish to use for small groups and book clubs.
So glad I found this awesome app!!

It WAS great last year
I’m a Second Grade Teacher and I used this app all the time, last year my students even used it with ease. It was so helpful in finding the AR level and number. It hasn’t worked yet, for the 2 1/2 months we’ve been at school. It keeps saying it can’t find the Accelerated Reader site, whether I’m using our schools network or my own personal network or any other network. It used to be great.
*Revision two days later: I deleted the app and reinstalled it, as recommended by the developer. It’s working great now!!! I’m so thrilled. I took my rating from a 2-star to a 5-star!!

One easy step to try is to tap the ? in the top left of the main screen, then tap the "Reset Search String" button. Try scanning again to see if this helps. If not, please remove BookScanner and reinstall from the App Store. If you continue to experience search issues, please tap the "Email Support" button from the ? screen.

Update: reached out to developer via FB page. Quick response and quick fix. Thank you for your responsiveness. Excited to upload my personal library into the app. Thanks!
Have had the app for about three days and it won’t connect to AR today. Was able to scan a few books using my iPad when I first downloaded the app and those didn’t transfer to the app on my iPhone. Disappointing to think I can’t switch between devices to scan the books into one database. Overall disappointed. Not worth the money.

Hello. I’m sorry that you experienced issues looking up the book. I have identified the issue causing the error in BookScanner and this will automatically be updated on all copies of BookScanner within 24 hours. To force an update immediately, you can do the following: from the main screen, tap the ? icon in the top left, tap the Reset Search String button, and try to scan a book. This should update the BookScanner and start to properly identify books again.
