Though there's only one of her, Juana Molina is one of the sweetest vocal groups in Latin pop. Here, she writes acoustic-based songs in a folk/pop vein, then proceeds to mess with them in the studio, adding multiple layers of her voice, guitar, and percussion. On “Vive Solo,” she's a sonic cousin to Björk and Goldfrapp, but with fewer gadgets and a stronger sense of whimsy. The title track is a hypnotic swirl of vocal loops and interlocking melodies, while she becomes a trio of samba sirens on "El Vestido."
