Comprising unreleased material from sessions for 2014’s Once More ’Round the Sun and 2017’s Emperor of Sand, Cold Dark Place’s songs—all suite-like and multipart—touch on big-muscle power ballads (“Toe to Toes”), boggy Southern folk (“Cold Dark Place”), and yes, the Bee Gees, albeit in a thunderously bad mood (“Blue Walsh”).
