If Andrew Belle's hushed and gritty voice rings a bell, that could be because the Nashville (by way of Chicago) singer/songwriter’s tunes have been featured on such TV shows as Keeping Up with the Kardashians, 90210, and Grey's Anatomy. The title track of his 2012 EP opens with him singing his intimately whispered inflections over a gradually building swell of emotion on par with early Coldplay recordings. The following “Sky’s Still Blue” makes good use of guitar effect pedals before Belle simmers down to deliver another one of those heartfelt ballads that sound crafted for the sole purpose of making women weak in the knees. “All Those Pretty Lights (Alternate Universe Version)” keeps the song’s original melody intact while infusing pitter-patter rhythms and what sounds like an analog keyboard pulsing in time with the soft drum patterns. Belle also throws in a few outstanding live tracks. The best is an intimate rendition of “In My Veins,” where guitar, piano, and his alluring voice resonate with naturally rich tones.
