Walkin' (Remastered)

Walkin' (Remastered)

Walkin' finds Miles Davis in full hard bop mode, unfurling some of his most madly swinging solos. He keeps things bluesy on the title track, a key signpost on the road to funk, and trades fervid licks with J.J. Johnson's fluid trombone and Lucky Thompson's stinging sax on "Blue ‘N' Boogie." When the band slows down for a steamy stroll through the haunting, heartbroken environs of "You Don't Know What Love Is," Miles' trumpet moans like the very embodiment of wrecked romance.
