The third in a trilogy of albums (also including Good Day and Here We Go) that feature only original compositions, Smile finds British-born smooth jazz guitarist Peter White in a suitably upbeat mood. From the poppy title cut with vocals to the global sounds of “In Rainbows” to the melodic but danceable “Head Over Heels,” White and producer DC push in different directions without giving fans whiplash or losing that light and uplifting groove. Adding to the fun, the guitarist is also joined here by guests Mindi Abair on vocals, trumpeter Rick Braun, saxophonist Euge Groove, and others.
