Irish five-piece Hermitage Green enjoyed a slow burn since forming in 2010, grafting to rise up from the local Limerick scene to become breakout Irish exports. Their studio debut establishes their sound: honest, heart-swelling folk-rock with a Celtic flair. They go heavy on the emotion—“Mayday”, “The Hills of Graves”, and “Magnificent” will have lighters aloft—but refuse to closet their bravado for long. The rousing “Save Your Soul” and “My Only Wish” are fevered showstoppers and point to a band with lofty, international ambitions.
