Though best known for his dubs with King Tubby (on King Tubbys Meets Rockers Uptown), Pablo was equally great—if not greater—at straight instrumentals, crafting a mood at once mystical and childlike, searching and inimitably serene, often led by the spectral sound of his melodica.
