Reinvention beefs up and fleshes out a batch of Superchick’s best-known tracks with sonically striking results. Songs like “Rock What You Got,” “Hey Hey” and “Bowling Ball” take on an ultra-contemporary edge, emphasizing the urgency of their life-affirming messages. A particular highlight is “One and Lonely,” revised with fresh rhythmic punch and instrumental sparkle. Complimenting the old favorites are three new tunes that sustain the Christian pop/rock band’s consistently high standards. “Let It Roll” finds bassist Matt Dally flexing his funk muscle, while “With You” shines the spotlight on lead vocalist Tricia Brock in an acoustic-centered setting.
