Collection 2

Collection 2

Released nearly 10 years after the first Collection (originally known as Misfits), Collection II assembles The Misfits' stray songs from the various EPs and singles not already collected on the first volume, along with six posthumous creations put together by Glenn Danzig and Samhain bassist Eerie Von in 1986. The controversial tunes are "Cough/Cool" (which uses the original drum track with new vocals and guitar), "Mephisto Waltz" (said to have never been officially recorded by the band), and four tracks from Walk Among Us—"Braineaters," "Devil's Whorehouse," "Hate Breeders," "Nike-A-Go-Go"—that were re-recorded at the 1986 session. Of the remainders, "Last Caress," known by many from its Metallica cover, has never sounded better, while "We Are 138" and "Attitude" reach all the way back to the band's 1978 Bullet EP. "Rat Fink," written by comedian/musician Allan Sherman, is the group's only cover. "Children in Heat" is a previously unreleased tune that had only surfaced on poor-sounding bootlegs. "Halloween" and "Halloween II" are from the rare 7-inch single. The Misfits are a legendary punk band, but their legacy, true to form, is quite the mess
