Wu-Block (Deluxe Edition)

Wu-Block (Deluxe Edition)

Arguably the most popular member of hip-hop superheroes Wu-Tang Clan, Ghostface Killah is known for his frantic flow, cinematic street storytelling, classic-minded love jams, bugged-out humor, and unique brand of personal slang. He's been dropping excellent solo albums since '96. Sheek Louch got his start as a third of The Lox (now known as D-Block) in the late '90s and has released consistently strong solo material since '03. Though they've worked together many times before, Wu-Block is their first official collabo album, and it won't disappoint fans of either crew. Sweeping, sample-heavy production sets the tone for drug-themed epics like "Crack Spot Stories" and "Cocaine Central," while the mood lightens on the triumphant synth-powered jams "Pull tha Cars Out" and "Take Notice." Assorted Wu homies (Raekown, Inspectah Deck, Method Man, GZA, and Masta Killa) join the fray, as do Styles and Jada on several key selections. It's another win for Ghost and Styles. Check out "Stella," "Guns for Life," and the jumpy closer, "Bust Shots."
