Red Line Radio

Red Line Radio

Where the majority of local beatmakers follow two general schools of thought—samples or synths—Headnodic prefers to come at things more organically. His tracks have an abundance of live instrumentation, which makes perfect sense as he attended the prestigious Berklee School of Music. After years of producing for acts like Crown City Rockers (previously known as Mission:), The Mighty Underdogs, and Megaphone, he hits us with his most ambitious effort to date. Red Line Radio features 20 tracks overflowing with top-shelf talent, including People Under the Stairs, Sadat X, Mr. Lif, Latyrx, Othello, The Jazz Mafia Horns, Myka 9, The Grouch, One.Be.Lo, and P.E.A.C.E., as well as longtime homies Kat (010), Moe Pope, and Rashaan Ahmad, among others. Supremely funky with ample amounts of jazz, soul, and straight-up boom-bap, it's nearly flawless from start to finish. Standouts include "Turn Your Radio Up," "Surgeon General," and "The Mush," plus the instrumentals "These Days Ahead" and "Carpe Diem."
