The Gatalog - A Collection of Chaos

The Gatalog - A Collection of Chaos

A prolific emcee/producer from Tampa, Celph Titled has been steadily working since the late '90s. He's released a staggering amount of material on indie labels like BUDS, Bronx Science, Antidote, and No Sleep Recordings. He's also known as the Rubix Cuban and is a full-fledged member of both Army of the Pharaohs and The Demigodz. He's unapologetically thuggish yet also a master of punch lines, with a rhyme style that's alternately hardcore and hilarious. His beats play like an avalanche of sick bass lines, obscure samples, and thunderous drums. Released in 2006, The Gatalog compiles a ton of early material (going back to '98) and gives listeners a whopping 35 tracks. The guest list plays like a who's who of East Coast indie-rap, with appearances from longtime homies Apathy, Vinnie Paz, Majik Most, and J-Zone, plus bigger stars Redman, Fabolous, Juelz Santana, and Mike Shinoda, as well as DutchMassive, L-Fudge, Funkghost, Walkmen, and others. It's a great jumping-off point for all things Celph. Don't miss "Just a Feelin'," "Extra Thug Sauce," "Revaporate," or "Critical Conditions."
