Dear Wormwood

Dear Wormwood

For their second full-length album, Texas siblings Tyler and Maggie Heath found their inspiration in fantasy—specifically, an allegorical book about hell (The Screwtape Letters) by British author C.S. Lewis. Ghostly characters (“Pale White Horse;” “Soldier, Poet, King”) run roughshod through the songs, and the Heaths match these spectral visions with enchanting, multilayered arrangements that hover between folk fragility and grandiose post-rock. The results feel like a childhood reverie brought to life.
