The Hangover (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack)

Since Elvis has become synonymous with Las Vegas, it only makes sense to open the soundtrack to The Hangover with El Vez (the Mexican Elvis) followed by Danzig (the satanic Elvis). Sure, there are a few good songs missing here that helped score some hilarious moments of the 2009 comedy — “Live Your Life” by T.I. featuring Rihanna, Usher’s “Yeah!” and Mickey Avalon’s “What Do You Say” — but the rest of the soundtrack makes up for it in spades with sidesplitting moments like comedian Zach Galifianakis’ “Three Best Friends” or Ed Helms playing the piano and singing “Stu’s Song” for Mike Tyson’s pet tiger. Of course not all these tracks are funny gag songs — there are some solid jams here. “Take It Off” by the Donnas rocks like the Runaways on performance enhancing steroids and “Iko Iko” by the Belle Stars grooves with a tropical- tinged seduction. Revolution Mother’s “Ride The Sky II” sounds so punk and ferocious that the only way to follow it up is with Dan Finnerty and the Dan Band’s sexually idiotic party jam “Candy Shop.”
