Hijos del Sol

Hijos del Sol

Felipe el Hombre attack their guitar pedals with gusto, coating each second of Hijos del Sol in filthy noise and disorienting reverb. But unlike their more punk-inclined peers, the Mexican trio can really groove, whether they're reviving the blues-abusing riffs of late '60s garage rockers ("Sin Frenos") or the pummeling swing of early '70s metal heroes ("Dispárame"). Even when roaring with unruly feedback, the band's heavy jams remain as catchy as jukebox hits, recalling a time when the grimiest hard rock was still more about moving bodies than banging heads.
