Still Hungry

Still Hungry

Considering 1984's Stay Hungry is Twisted Sister's signature album, the idea of rerecording it in 2004 as Still Hungry to make it heavier and closer to the band's original vision was a bold move. Surely, some fans want to remember it the way they first heard it, and for them there's the 25th-anniversary deluxe edition of the original album. But for heavy metal fans who just love the sound of loud guitars and sturdy beats, this is another worthy attraction. The songs sound louder and stronger. "The Price" is even more dramatic. The guitars on "Don't Let Me Down" hum and burn with greater definition. And Dee Snider hasn't lost a thing in the vocal department. He nails the band's anthems—"I Wanna Rock," "We're Not Gonna Take It"—with authority. The album comes with seven bonus cuts, including tunes that surfaced on bootlegs, here in rerecorded glory. "You Know I Cry" and "Come Back" are from the early days, while the 2000s-era "Heroes Are Hard To Find" proves the band believes in pure heavy metal.
