A. R. Rahman crafts a stunning sound that gives the perfect feel for Vijay’s triple roles in Mersal, all of which are set in different eras. “Aalaporaan Thamizhan” has a buzzing, celebratory vibe; “Macho” is in your face with catchy lyrics and synth grooves; and the title track, “Mersal Arasan”, with its booming trumpet finale, is a pacy, danceable track. This soundtrack also features fine vocals throughout, including from Kailash Kher, Shweta Mohan and Naresh Iyer.
