Mozart: Violin Concerto No. 5 - Violin Sonata No. 32

Mozart: Violin Concerto No. 5 - Violin Sonata No. 32

Dutch violinist Noa Wildschut makes her recorded debut with exactly the same violin concerto, Mozart’s Fifth, that launched her mentor Anne-Sophie Mutter’s career. Wildschut’s approach is more contemporary—elegant of tone, neat, and trim—and she works well with her stylish Dutch orchestral partners. The little Adagio in E, K. 261, is exquisite and stops time for 10 glorious minutes. Turning to Mozart the chamber musician, Wildschut plays the B-flat Violin Sonata with a lovely feeling for its singing lines, and pianist Yoram Ish-Hurwitz is a sympathetic partner.
