Drifter

Drifter

The Hippie Sabotage vibe is a mix of tough rap beats, jam-band vibes, and ethereal electronic atmospheres, and on 2017’s Drifter, the California brothers continue to finesse the fusion. The opening “Peyote” sets the album’s tone with sternum-punching trap and woozy vocal loops, and on “Drifter” they drizzle slinky blues-guitar licks over stumbling kicks and snares. “Different” is an anthem made for outdoor festivals: Raising a middle finger over a defiantly laidback beat, it posits the chill life as the ultimate declaration of independence.
