Since the late ‘70s, Fishbone have been one of the world's best live bands, and this concert album, recorded in France in 2008, stands as testament to their supremacy. Led by original singer/saxophonist Angelo Moore—in charismatic-frontman form here—and bassist Norwood Fisher, they nail one relentlessly high-energy classic after another, unspooling "Unyielding Conditioning" into an 11-minute ska-jazz space shot; deploying bass-fueled, horn-driven funk on "Bonin' In the Boneyard"; and closing with their take on Curtis Mayfield's psychedelic soul masterpiece "Freddie's Dead."
