The Future Starts Here: The Essential Doors Hits

There have been countless greatest-hits collections from The Doors over the years. Which is odd, considering the group issued just six studio albums with singer Jim Morrison between 1967 and 1971. It's advisable to someone with a keen interest in the group to collect each of those originals, as opposed to a hits collection, since eventually fandom will lead to seeking out the full albums. For those certain they won't need another Doors record, this is a decent 20-song collection, highlighted by the six-and-a-half-minute edit of "The End" (which clocked in at 11:41 on the debut album). Here, seven cuts are from the self-titled debut album, four are from Strange Days, three are from Waiting for the Sun, two are from Morrison Hotel, three are from L.A. Woman, and only "Touch Me" is from The Soft Parade.
