Jacksonville native Tokyo Jetz recorded her first song in 11th grade and became a local sensation, which isn’t a huge surprise once you hear her fiery, take-no-prisoners delivery. On Bonafide, her second album on T.I.’s Grand Hustle imprint, she’s fiercely self-reliant and not one to be messed with: “No Problem” has Tokyo blocking lame dudes’ numbers and relishing in her independence. (There’s also a torch-passing remix featuring fellow Florida boss, Trina.) “Don’t come with no gimmicks,” she spits on the no-hook mission statement “Freestyle”—and you don’t need any when your bars are this formidable.
