The game is afoot when Glenn declares that all employees will receive a $200 bonus if the store reaches a certain sales goal by the end of the day. As the associates scramble to upsell their customers, Jonah struggles with his morality until he gives in and convinces a customer to purchase many expensive items...Who happens to be Amy's husband! Meanwhile, a bored Glenn and Dina work together to throw a party for everyone after they meet their sales goals.
Preparing for their annual wedding themed sale, the employees of Cloud 9 experience the most hectic day filled with frantic and aggressive customers. When Amy (America Ferrera) notices that Cheyenne (Nichole Bloom) and Bo (Johnny Pemberton) are two of these customers looking to make lavish purchases for their own wedding, she tries to help them understand the costs of having a child. Unfortunately, this terrifies Bo, causing him to flee the store. Amy and Dina (Lauren Ash) team up to search for him and enjoy their unlikely car adventure together. Meanwhile, Jonah (Ben Feldman) and Garrett (Colton Dunn) try to cheer up Cheyenne by helping her brainstorm ideas and themes for the wedding. Determined to show that not all Christians are against gay marriage, Glenn (Mark McKinney) enlists the help of Mateo (Nico Santos) to assist a gay couple with their wedding planning.
After a long day, the entire staff is waiting for a truck to deliver new Cloud 9 signage that they'll have to hang throughout the store by morning. Everyone has somewhere to be, tensions are running high and it's only made worse when Glenn (Mark McKinney) announces that the truck is delayed and they're in for a long night. With hours to kill in an empty Cloud 9, our gang finds themselves bonding in the most unusual and creative ways...
Following an awkward conversation with Dina (Lauren Ash) about her .feelings, a panicked Jonah (Ben Feldman) claims he would date her if she wasn't his supervisor. Dina goes to Glenn (Mark McKinney) and asks for a demotion, leaving Jonah in the awkward position of trying to break up with her in a non-confrontational way. Additionally, this potential demotion forces Glenn to find a replacement for Dina, but it turns out that Amy (America Ferrera) and Mateo (Nico Santos) might be the only qualified candidates. Amy gets the position, resulting in a very bitter Mateo.
Although Cheyenne (Nichole Bloom) finally has the baby, she refuses to stop working as Cloud 9 employees do not get paid maternity leave. Jonah (Ben Feldman) insists that they contact corporate to ask for a change, but when Amy (America Ferrera) makes the call, Ben mentions the word "union," sending corporate into a frenzy and resulting in a representative flying out to Cloud 9. This only makes matters worse...
In this special Olympic-themed episode, a Cloud 9 Olympics promotion gives Amy (America Ferrera) the chance to meet her childhood hero, gold medal-winning gymnast Missy Jones (special guest star Cecily Strong, "SNL"), who proves to be a little too inspirational. Meanwhile, storewide "Olympic fever" causes Glenn (Mark McKinney) to have some difficulty balancing his extreme patriotism, Jonah (Ben Feldman) to learn a secret about Mateo's (Nico Santos) past and Dina (Lauren Ash) strives to create a "closing ceremony" her colleagues will never forget. Special appearances by Olympic gold medalists Apolo Anton Ohno, Tara Lipinski and McKayla Maroney. Colton Dunn and Nichole Bloom also star.
After a group of Cloud 9 employees walk out to protest Glenn's (Mark McKinney) firing in last season's finale, Amy (America Ferrera) convinces her co-workers to turn the walkout into a full-fledged strike. Jonah (Ben Feldman) tries to make the most of his one year of business school by joining Amy in negotiating with corporate. Almost immediately the ambitious Mateo (Nico Santos) regrets going on strike and sneaks back into the store to impress Jeff (recurring guest star Michael Bunin), the district manager corporate sent to manage the store during the crisis. Dina (Lauren Ash) is also determined to impress Jeff as she's trying to be renamed assistant manager, and Garrett (Colton Dunn) meets a beautiful woman on the picket line who proves too good to be true. Nichole Bloom also stars.
Jeff (recurring guest star Michael Bunin), the district manager from corporate, tells the Cloud 9 employees he is going to be around for the day to see what can improve in the store. Amy (America Ferrera) tries to impress him with a perfect day, but a workplace accident threatens her plan. Meanwhile, Glenn (Mark McKinney) tries to come off as a tough boss in front of Jeff, Jonah (Ben Feldman) attempts to help an unyielding Dina (Lauren Ash) win over the employees she betrayed in the strike and Mateo (Nico Santos) discovers something about Jeff in his pursuit to win him over.
When Amy (America Ferrera) assigns an uncomfortable Jonah (Ben Feldman) to the gun section of Cloud 9, Jonah abuses his right-to-refuse sale to anyone that causes concern, causing an open-carry protest to gather in the store. On principle, Glenn (Mark McKinney) attempts to purchase all of the store's morning-after pills, but finds himself in a moral dilemma when he can't afford them. Dina (Lauren Ash), Garrett (Colton Dunn) and Mateo (Nico Santos) hunt down a crow that has flown into the store.
When Cloud 9's spokesman is accused of a heinous crime, Glenn (Mark McKinney) worries that he doesn't know enough about his employees and Dina (Lauren Ash) exploits his concerns by carrying out storewide drug testing. Meanwhile, Amy (America Ferrera) and Jonah (Ben Feldman) have a fun, flirty day avoiding work and daring each other with a series of pranks; Cheyenne (Nichole Bloom) can't stop talking about her baby, which annoys Garrett (Colton Dunn); and Mateo (Nico Santos) continues to look for romance in his ambiguous relationship with Jeff (recurring guest star Michael Bunin).
After new parents Cheyenne (Nichole Bloom) and Bo (recurring guest star Johnny Pemberton) get into a fight, Amy (America Ferrera) and Glenn (Mark McKinney) take vastly different approaches in giving them advice. Meanwhile, Mateo (Nico Santos) and Jonah (Ben Feldman) get assigned to handle dog adoptions in the store and work feverishly to get all of the dogs adopted once they find out what will happen to the dogs if they don't. Dina (Lauren Ash) refuses to adjust Garrett's (Colton Dunn) timecard based on "store rules," leaving Garrett happy to taunt Dina in revenge.
