About The Light Crust Doughboys
The Light Crust Doughboys were a Western swing group that originally featured Bob Wills, Herman Arnspiger, Leon Selph and Milton Brown. Named after the sponsors of a radio station that employed them, the group made their first recordings for Victor Records in 1932. Milton Brown subsequently left for a successful career with his own swing band, the Musical Brownies, until his untimely death in a car crash in 1936. Bob Wills left the following year, forming his famed Texas Playboys. Despite several changes in line-up, the Doughboys persevered, recording many popular hits, including the suggestive "Pussy, Pussy, Pussy." Throughout subsequent decades, they worked on radio and television, toured regularly, and recorded for several labels.
