About Ed Littman

Ed Littman, a guitarist whose strongly rock-influenced fusion music falls somewhere between Jeff Beck and John Scofield, graduated from Berklee in 1986. He soon began performing with a variety of Boston-area bands and pursued several music education projects. He also busied himself writing jingles and film music. Meanwhile, he furthered his jazz knowledge by studying with Bruce Bartlett and Charlie Banacos. Relocating to New York from Boston in 1994, Littman racked up performance and recording credits with bassist Dwayne Burno and drummers Ian Froman and Tommy Campbell, among others. He also became a busy sideman, playing sessions and gigs in a wide variety of styles. Littman works with singers Dori Levine and Sandra Bazzerelli, as well as the Thelonious Monk-inspired band Brilliant Coroners. He also co-leads a group called Splat with bassist Danny Zanker and drummer John Bollinger. He made his recording debut in 1991 with Sounds of Colors, a new age disc. After founding his own Yeahman Records, he released 1999's My Window, a promising jazz fusion CD that features bassist Mark Egan and drummer Danny Gottlieb. ~ David R. Adler
