Frequent reference is made in this manual to “AIPNZ Vol 4”. This term is derived from the Aeronautical Information Publication (AIP) New Zealand which is divided into four volumes. Volume 4 contains almost all the items that used to be published in the now discontinued Visual Flight Guide (VFG).  The publication is an important document for pilots who operate under Visual Flight Rules (VFR).
