Publisher Description

The perfect novel for young readers who love baking and magic!

Rosemary Bliss's family has a secret. It's the Bliss Cookery Booke—an ancient, leather-bound volume of enchanted recipes like Singing Gingersnaps.

Rose and her siblings are supposed to keep the Cookery Booke locked away while their parents are out of town, but then a mysterious stranger shows up. "Aunt" Lily rides a motorcycle and also whips up exotic (but delicious) dishes for dinner. Soon boring, non-magical recipes feel like life before Aunt Lily—a lot less fun.

So Rose and her siblings experiment with just a couple of recipes from the forbidden Cookery Booke. A few Love Muffins and Cookies of Truth couldn't cause too much trouble . . . could they?

Kathryn Littlewood's culinary caper blends rich emotional flavor with truly enchanting wit, yielding one heaping portion of hilarious family adventure.

Bliss

Bliss by Kathryn Littlewood is not my favorite book. It’s still really good except some parts made me really mad when the younger siblings didn’t listen to the older sibling. Now they disobeyed their parents. Some good things about the book are that I love how the author mixes fantasy and baking together! Fantasy is one of my favorite genres and I love Bliss as fantasy! Overall Bliss is okay but if you don’t like fantasy, I wouldn’t recommend it.

Bliss

Bliss is a very good book. It has comedy, adventure, mystery... Anything you could ask for in a book. I love it! it is good for readers 9, 10,11 or 12 range.

Creative subject but I had some real issues with the plot! Mainly, our heroine Rosemary has got to be infinitely stupid to trust Sage with the key after he just got done telling Aunt Lily everything he was explicitly instructed to keep SECRET. Then you start to wonder why the parents left Rosemary a key in the first place. She didn’t need it. Then Lily leaves with the book, which is obvious to us, but for some reason doesn’t occur to Rosemary, and shocks her into fainting when she discovers this. Then, when the parents return to find that the one thing they asked for was disobeyed outright and their precious booke was stolen, they’re all like, “Don’t worry, family is more important, at least we still have each other, etc.” Shouldn’t these kids get grounded or something? It’s like they don’t really care after all. Also big stress on people’s looks and whether or not they’re beautiful (pet peeve, hate that). One more thing: Why is the baby always snapping pictures?
