フランスの通信社の依頼で足を踏み入れた、東電福島第一原発事故の敷地内。そこで見た福島の海や、目に見えぬ恐怖。自然の中に潜む、人体の気配。目に見えない放射性物質や恐怖なるものを可視化しようと、山林や河川、田畑へ分け入り、福島の現在を収めた。
3.11以前と以後での東京と福島の行き来を綴ったエッセイを収録。

瀬戸正人/1953年タイ生まれ。東京写真専門学校(現・東京ビジュアルアーツ)卒業後、深瀬昌久のアシスタントを経て、81年フリーランスの写真家として独立。87年、新宿に山内道雄とギャラリーPLACE M開設。「Silent Mode」(95)、「部屋 Living Room, Tokyo」(96)で、第21回木村伊兵衛賞受賞。自伝エッセイ「トオイと正人」(99)で新潮学芸賞受賞。その他の作品集に「バンコク、ハノイ1982 -1987」(90)、「Picnic」(06)、台湾の街道筋に立ち並ぶ電飾を施したガラスの箱の中で、ビンロウという嗜好品を売る女たちを捉えた「binran」(08)で日本写真協会の年度賞を受賞。
作家活動にとどまらず、木村伊兵衛写真賞の審査員を務めるなど、写真界で幅広い活動を続けている。
現在『バルセア 消えゆく土地』と題した新シリーズを意欲的に発表。

Photographer Masato Seto, who his original roots is from Fukushima Prefecture, captured the post apocalyptic scenery of his homeland 1 year after the critical nuclear disaster of Fukushima Taiichi Nuclear Power Plant that happened in March 11th, 2011 earthquake. This is the first e-Book edition of “Cesium -137Cs-“.
Commissioned by a french correspondence, Masato Seto stepped deep into the contaminated zone of Fukushima Nuclear disaster, and witnessed the fear, embodied in the nature of the area…… which spreads into the sea, the forest, rivers and in the fields…., capturing the terror of the radioactive substance in the atmosphere of present Fukushima.
Including an essay going back and forth of Fukushima and Tokyo, before and after the 3.11 Earthquake incident.

Masato Seto/Born 1953 in Thailand. After graduating from the Tokyo School of Photography (now Tokyo Visual Arts), he became Masahisa Fukase’s assistant, and in 1981 went independent as a freelance photographer. In ’87, Seto and Michio Yamauchi opened the gallery PLACE M in Shinjuku. Received the 21st Kimura Ihei Award for Silent Mode (’95) and Living Room, Tokyo (’96), and the Shincho Gakugei Award for his autobiographical essay Tooi to Masato (’99). Other photo collections include Bangkok, Hanoi 1982 -1987 (’90), Picnic (‘06) and binran (‘08), a series of photographs of Taiwanese women selling betel nuts in glass cases with electric spectaculars by the roadside, for which he received the Photographic Society of Japan’s Annual Award. In addition to being a photographer, his wide-ranging work in the field of photography includes functioning as a judge at the Kimura Ihei Award. His current ambitious series is titled “Varzea: A Vanishing Land”.
