When he first hit the scene in 2001, few people would have expected that Bubba Sparxxx would still be going strong a decade later. A beefy white guy from rural Georgia, he played up his redneck image (pig wrestling in the video for "Ugly," and titling his sophomore LP Deliverance), but he also benefited from some great Timbaland beats, not to mention that he was actually a solid MC. He scored another hit with the Ying Yang Twinz collaboration "Ms. New Booty" in 2006, but has been relatively quiet since then. On the EP Miracle On Gamble Road he slows down the BPMs considerably, taking a blues-meets-pop approach replete with more singing and guitar work, especially on the standout track/home-state ode "Georgia." Fans of his earlier material may be disappointed, but followers of other genre-benders like Everlast and Uncle Kracker will feel right at home here.
