Forget the World (Deluxe Version)

Forget the World (Deluxe Version)

A trend among superstar EDM DJs is to rise to fame with an impossibly catchy single, tour the world, nab a string of high-profile residencies, earn millions, and then release a debut album. As with Skrillex and Avicii, so with Afrojack, whose full-length debut arrives four years after 2010's "Take Over Control" was ubiquitous on dancefloors. That track isn't included here, but Snoop Dogg is; he raises the roof on the slinking trap beat of "Dynamite," a sonic departure for our Dutch hero. For Afrojack's signature sound, see "Ten Feet Tall," a stratospheric anthem with a throbbing beat. Taking a cue from fellow Scandinavian Avicii, Afrojack breaks out a guitar and a galloping beat on "The Spark," while "Too Wild," featuring Wiz Khalifa, is saccharine pop with a kick: four per measure, to be exact.
