Crips: Strapped and Strong
A jaw-dropping insight into the Dutch branch of the Crips gang, as well as into the workings of the criminal mind. In the Dutch city of The Hague, immigrants from Suriname and the West Indies have formed their own chapter of the Crips, the notorious Los Angeles street gang. Main C, fresh out of jail, fights to get out of the gang to be a father. Santos lies low and dreams of “becoming somebody.” Leader Keylow holds the cards to both their fates. In a bid to expand the power of the Netherlands Crips, Keylow goes to LA. “We’re all brothers here,” says one of the LA CRIPS, “but this is not a lifestyle, it’s a deathstyle.”
