About Daniel Schuhmacher

Born on April 19, 1987, in Pfullendorf, Baden-Württemberg, chart-topping pop singer Daniel Schuhmacher was the first-place winner of the sixth season of Deutschland Sucht den Superstar, a German-language adaptation of Pop Idol. Following his first-place finish in May 2009, Schuhmacher recorded his full-length solo debut, The Album, released by Sony Music. Lead single "Anything But Love" was a smash hit, topping the singles charts in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, and The Album topped the albums charts in Germany and Austria and reached the Top Five in Switzerland. While it included a couple cover songs (Eurythmics' "Sweet Dreams" and Bill Withers' "Ain't No Sunshine," both of which Schuhmacher had performed on Deutschland Sucht den Superstar), The Album was otherwise comprised exclusively of English-language material. ~ Jason Birchmeier
