About The Fireman

An unlikely collaboration between Paul McCartney and Orb-producer and former Killing Joke bassist Youth (aka Martin Glover), The Fireman began inauspiciously as a remix session for "Hope of Deliverance," the first single off McCartney's 1992 album OFF THE GROUND. The group's first two full-lengths, 1994's STRAWBERRIES OCEANS SHIPS FOREST and 1998's RUSHES, both instrumental, explored ambient textures and down-tempo house. 2008's ELECTRIC ARGUMENTS, which featured McCartney on vocals, felt deceptively like a proper McCartney album, though Youth's electronic textures and experimental and often ethereal whimsy remained.
