About Loyle Carner

British rapper Loyle Carner is carving his own path with sensitive, thoughtful lyrics and a penchant for jazz-inspired production. • The South London native studied drama at the BRIT School—which famously produced Adele and Amy Winehouse—and originally planned to be an actor. At 13, he earned a small role in the 2008 film 10,000 BC. • Carner dropped out of school in 2014 following the death of his stepfather and committed himself to music. That same year, he released his debut EP, A Little Late. • In 2016, he launched Chilli Con Carner, a cooking school that helps students with ADHD, a condition he himself suffers from. • His 2017 debut album, Yesterday's Gone, was nominated for the Mercury Prize. • The rapper’s 2019 sophomore album, Not Waving, but Drowning, peaked at No. 3 on the UK album chart.
