Japanese electronicore band Fear, and Loathing in Las Vegas was formed in 2008 with the goal of combining emo and metalcore with electronic sounds and rave beats. ∙ The band’s first break came in 2010, when English wrestler Pac chose the title song of their EP Evolution (Entering a New World) as his theme music. ∙ 2012’s “Just Awake,” their first of six Japanese Top 10 hits, was featured in the anime series Hunter x Hunter. ∙ They teamed up with Japanese electronic-pop duo Boom Boom Satellites for a remix of their 2012 song “Ley-Line,” which was included on 2014’s EP Rave-up Tonight. ∙ Fear, and Loathing in Las Vegas have released five straight Top 10 albums in Japan, with 2015’s Feeling of Unity hitting the No. 2 spot. ∙ The band has been nominated twice by Japan’s Space Shower Music Awards—for Best Video (2014) and for Best Punk/Loud Rock Artist (2016).
