I miss AppZapper!

With App Zap I want to be able to drop or drag a file or folder not just an App... and have it find every associated file scattered throughout my Mac… plus also to allow me to look inside the folder that I dropped.

With AppZapper, I was able to grab any file (not just the App) and AppZapper would find every little thing associated with what I was trying to Zap and then give me the choice to select and Zap!

With App Zap I still have to go back and manually Trash files and folders that App Zap left behind…

It’s nearly as good as AppZapper but not quite yet!

Keep up the good work!

Cheers, Mark

Dangerous For Novice Use

I have tried to use this on occasion for a number of months. I don't care what some of these 5 star reviewers are saying--all I can say is that it often will find files to delete that are CLEARLY not associated with the app in question. As long as you carefully examine the list and make judgments to uncheck irrelevant files, then that is one thing. But it is another to just assume that it has correctly searched your drive for relevant files, and then blindly hit the ZAP button. Do it enough times, and I assure you that you will break an app, and will be wondering later what caused your other apps to break, most likely without ever recognizing the cause.

Furthermore, I keep finding that it doesn't really find everything related to the targeted app, so I am wondering exactly what it is doing to generate a list of files to delete. Often files are left in the ~/Library folder, and even in the /Applications folder that are adjacent to the binary itself!!! So who knows what else is being left around. So it seems these favorable reviewers are not particularly technically savvy, and are only checking to see if the main app is being deleted, in which case you could just drag your app to the trash to achieve the same effect. Surely there is a better app deleter out there.

Works Fine - enable authentication in options

NOTE: After the initial install, I tried a number of ways to use this application and every time on various kinds of installed applications it failed with the same message "App Zap could not delete file/s that require /s root permission. You have to delete it them manually by browsing to location in Finder"

To get App Zap to function properly, go to options and turn on the 'Authentication Required' option. It states this in the 'whats new' section above, but by default that is hidden and some users might not find this.

I think the application should prompt the user when they are deleting something that requires authentication and the 'Authentication Required' option is turned off or just enable that option permanently and remove it from the options screen
