Riches, Royalty & Respect

Riches, Royalty & Respect

One of the most influential and idolized MCs in the history of hip-hop, Kool G Rap has been destroying microphones since the mid-‘80s, when he first emerged out of Corona Queens alongside DJ Polo, being put on by Marley Marl and instantly brought into the Juice Crew. He and Polo released several classic albums together, and he went solo in the mid-‘90s. Known for his signature lisp, criminology storytelling, and hyper-dense lyrical style, he influenced pretty much every top-tier rapper in the game, from Biggie and Pun to Jay-Z and Eminem. On Riches, Royalty & Respect, he continues to impress, dropping vivid crime rhymes over dark and brooding East Coast production. Light on guest spots, G Rap basks in the spotlight, going off as usual on key tracks like "In Too Deep," "70’s Gangsta," "America's Nightmare" (with Havoc) and the autobiographical "Pages of My Life."
