Electro Deluxe

A jazz, funk, and hip-hop hybrid group hailing from France, Electro Deluxe formed in 2001. Their lineup (Thomas Faure, sax, programming; Jeremie Coke, bass; Gael Cadoux, keyboards; and Arnaud Renaville, drums) was assembled from a very well-trained and well-educated musical pool, and made its main intent the fusion of a jazz-funk sound that used elements of electronica to back up the live musicians, rather than the other way around. Their first album, Stardown, was released in 2005. A follow-up appeared soon after in 2007, entitled Hopeful. ~ Chris True
