Cosy Moments marks a bold change for Kinski: Rather than the instrumental space jams that dominate their previous efforts, the Seattle outfit churn out concisely arranged alt-rock full of fuzz guitars and vocals from guitarist Chris Martin. The slithering groove anchoring “Riff Dad” reaches back to early grunge, and “Skim Milf” is just as rocking, with Martin’s slacker drawl riding swells of roaring distortion. Kinski sound like they’re having a blast, especially when they hit “Counterpointer,” which boasts blistering twin lead work.
