A vocalist with the boy band SEVENTEEN, JOSHUA is the first member of a K-pop group to feature in an Apple Music Home Session. In this special set, JOSHUA performs songs from SEVENTEEN sub-unit BSS and pop star Lauv. Here’s what he had to say about his unique take on these tracks: 7PM “This is off the first single ‘SECOND WIND’ from BSS, which is a special unit of our group, SEVENTEEN. This one’s dear to me, as I’ve always found it uplifting—before its release and even today. There’s something about talking with friends about the day we’ve had and then winding down for the night together. It really speaks to our way of life. ‘알려줘 너의 오늘’ (‘Tell me about the day you had’) is a lyric from the song. I went for a calm, warm acoustic arrangement that would feel like a sincere response to that line. Everyone might have had a different kind of day, but it would be nice if we could feel the same warmth in this song in the evening.” Kids Are Born Stars “‘Kids Are Born Stars’ is one of my go-to songs. I really like the witty, relatable lyrics and the uplifting mood. It reminds me of my childhood dream of becoming someone’s superstar and also lets me look back on where I am as a grown-up. So I’ve wanted to do a vocal cover of it. I really connect with the part where Lauv meets his younger self and tells him, ‘You can do it.’ Musically, I aimed for my own distinct take on the subject of ‘kids’.
