Alan Silvestri has written scores for many of the Avengers films, and his score for this historic finale includes callbacks to his prior work. “The How Works” kicks off with a reference to that unmistakable Avengers theme before drifting into a surprisingly jazzy bop arrangement. “No Trust” echoes his theme for Captain America: The First Avenger. And there are plenty of cliffhanger pieces, like the dramatic swells of “Becoming Whole Again” and the ominous horn fanfare of “Tres Amigos”. As an evocative score with operatic headphone appeal, Avengers: Endgame (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) feels like a natural progression for the award-winning composer, and for one of the greatest superhero stories of all time.
