Shamur

About Shamur

Shamur, a duo of Italian DJ/producers, are enchanted by the energising rhythms of Punjab—threading them through a range of dance-floor favourites that cut the distance between Europe and India. • Emanuele Marascia (aka Marascia) and Sandro Murru (aka Kortezman) joined forces to create Shamur in the mid 2000s with the aim of conquering dance floors from the Mediterranean to India. • The duo debuted in 2004 with hit single “Let the Music Play”, an ear-catching, cosmopolitan melange that captures the project’s boundary-busting essence. • Their album Shardana, which was released in 2008, features lead vocals from Sardinian singer Terry Solinas over bona fide party starters with Punjabi and Indian patterns, hip-hop, R&B, pop and dancehall grooves. • “Let the Music Play” gets an epic Bollywood revamp in 2021 film Roohi; the fresh version, “Nadiyon Paar (Let the Music Play Again)”, is composed by Sachin-Jigar and features new lyrics, with additional vocals by the Indian composing duo Rashmeet Kaur and IP Singh.
