Robert Casadesus

About Robert Casadesus

A nephew of Francis Casadesus of the French family of musicians, Robert Casadesus studied at the Paris Conservatoire where he won the premier prix in both piano and harmony. He enjoyed a career as a fine pianist, acclaimed for his clarity and sureness of interpretation and technique. He was considered to be one of the foremost pianists in Europe in his time. Casadesus composed six symphonies, several concertos and vocal and chamber works, although much of it remains unpublished. His works are often contrapuntal and dissonant and are technically adventurous. ~ Lynn Vought
