The Goes Wrong Show

A Horror, set in a crumbling old house. Sadly, the designers have taken the ‘crumbling’ part to heart, and the cast end up falling off, out of and through the set. The play’s also running short, so they find an ingenious adjective-based solution.

Our amateur dramatists put on a WW2 drama, rarely performed because of its historical inaccuracy. The tale of Allied code-breakers and the spy in their midst is bedevilled by collapsing sets, a missing actor and machines with minds of their own.

A legal drama is performed this week, but a design error has rendered one of the main sets ‘a little snug’ and the team’s plan to move the remaining sets in and out baffles the stage crew. Add in a nervous first-time actor and the result is disaster.

A family saga of lust and betrayal set in the Deep South heat is ruined by a set that has taken the title of the show literally. Life and limb are put at risk and gravity ignored as our gang decide to turn the cameras sideways to fix the problem.

A period romance this week, a classic tale of family, duty and love across the class divide, hindered by a ceiling fan that threatens decapitation and a rain effect that threatens to flood the entire set. There’s also a horse. And a cat.

Santa is coming to town with his elves to solve a little girl’s Christmas woes. Sadly there’s no Xmas cheer as one of the elves becomes trapped in the set, Santa indulges in a little too much Christmas sherry and a magical snowman is eaten alive…
