Bob Seger: Influences

Bob Seger: Influences

Though best known for his driving arena anthems, Bob Seger's origins were in R&B, from the rock-solid sound of Wilson Pickett and Motown to the transcendent showmanship of James Brown. Of course, Seger wasn't the first artist to combine deep soul with rock 'n' roll. For that, he looked to legends like The Rolling Stones, Spencer Davis Group and Van Morrison's first band, Them, whose marriage of tough and tender marked all Seger's best work, most notably “Night Moves”.
