Best rounded characters!!
I'm not a person that does reviews. Not since Hobbit and Lord Of the Rings have I been so pleased the the character development. There are not a lot of female characters yet but the few that are there are surprisingly poignant. Most writers can do one gender really well but fail in the other. So far I can feel the protagonist/ antagonist relationships helping build the male characters. The female characters are starting down the same road and I am more excited about that than I have ever been about a series. Don't fail me now boys I hope the rest of your series and your others books do my expectations justice. Men don't seem as strong and merciless for country unless there is the strength and softness of women to help them look inside theirselves.....
Can't wait to read book 2!
Three stories following people from 3 different countries that remind me of the dynamics of ancient Britain and Scandanavia. The first one sets up redemption for a coward. The second pulls a bunch of characters together (some more interesting than others) and rallies them around a young woman growing into an independent person. The last follows a group of northern folk as they hunt their dishonorable countrymen. I presume the authors are going to combine these stories, so I'm looking forward to reading the second installment.
