Publisher Description
Stan Lyamin has seen many of his dreams come true. He’s found his soulmate, loves Noah like his own, hoisted the Cup, and has his Mama living with him in his new country. But his fantasies of a loud, loving, madcap home overflowing with childish laughter linger. When a distant family member passes, Stan and Erik immediately agree to take in the two orphaned children, but that means a trip back to Russia for Stan, an idea that both exhilarates and terrifies him.
Erik’s world tilts on its axis when a phone call wakes him and Stan in the middle of the night. Abruptly, Stan is returning to Russia, making deals, working with people who know people, and fully intending to bring two orphaned children home. The red tape is overwhelming, and Erik is alone in Harrisburg with the nearly impossible task of finding a nanny who can speak fluent Russian. Being on his own is one thing, but add in fears about Stan’s safety and team issues, and Erik is finding everything hard to balance; not least of which is spending quality time with Noah.
When their family expands from three to five, the journey won’t be easy, but love can always find a way.

I loved visiting with these guys again.
I don't think I'll ever get tired of reading stories in the world of the Harrisburg Railers. While Hat Trick is a novella length story it still delivers a very satisfying tale with lots of humor and a nice amount of depth.
Hat Trick really isn't a standalone story so I don't suggest jumping into the series here. Don't be intimidated by the fact that this is a series about hockey players. I am absolutely not a sports fan, of any kind, but I still love everything about the Harrisburg Railers books. It's a wonderful series and I don't think you'll be sorry if you start from the beginning.
Stan and Erik have to adjust to the unexpected addition of two new family members who, for the most part, only speak Russian. I love that one of them is female and of the age that might present challenges for her new dads to deal with. 😊
Stan is, well Stan, and the story is filled with lots of his delicious and witty sayings and broken English. If you are a fan of this series you won't want to miss this one that also provides a wonderful bit about Ten and how he is doing.
RJ and V.L. have given fans another fantastic story with Hat Trick. Keep 'em coming ladies.
