About Tiny Masters of Today

The New York-born preadolescent siblings Ada and Ivan (no last names) form the ingenuous and disarming duo Tiny Masters of Today. The kids mine every nook and cranny of the alternative spectrum, from garage-y noise to DIY punk to lo-fi hip-hop and beyond, in performances and on recordings that harness their youthful spontaneity and openness without sounding completely amateurish. That their 2007 debut album features guest stars Kimya Dawson, Butthole Surfer Gibby Haynes, and the B-52’s Fred Schneider indicates both the breadth of their influences and their ability to attract some powerful support from the music intelligentsia.
