About OOMPH!

Controversial yet popular German goth-industrial dance metal pioneers Oomph! emerged in the early '90s. Featuring frontman Dero Goi, Andreas Crap, and Robert Flux, Oomph! released their self-titled debut on Machinery in 1992. The video for "Sex," the first single from 1994's Sperm, was banned from MTV Germany. After 1995's Defekt and 1996's Wunschkind, Oomph! signed with Virgin, which released Unrein (1998), Plastik (1999), and Ego (2001). Released by Gun/Supersonic, 2004's Wahrheit Oder Pflicht featured the number one hit single "Augen Auf!" GlaubeLiebeTod (2006) peaked in the German Top Ten, although some radio stations boycotted the album's first single, "Gott Ist ein Popstar" (God Is a Pop Star). Monster! arrived in 2008; Oomph! moved to Sony BMG for 2012's Des Wahnsinns Fette Beute. ~ David Jeffries
